Kraounakis ft Emigre - Kokkina Gialia [Red Glasses]

Πήρα κόκκινα γυαλιά                                                                          I bought a pair of red glasses
κι όλα γύρω σινεμά τα βλέπω                               and I see everything around (me) like in the cinema
κι ούτε ξέρω πως να ζω                                                              and I don't know neither how to live
ούτε και πως ν' αγαπώ                                                                                              nor how to love
τη ζωή μου επιβλέπω                                                                       I am just watching over my life

Πήρα κόκκινο στυλό                                                                                           I bought a red pen
και τραβάω γιαλό-γιαλό και γράφω                           and I'm going seaside to seaside and I'm writing
τραγουδάκια της φωτιάς                                                                                       little songs of fire
της φωτιάς, της πυρκαγιάς                                                                                     of fire, of wildfire
τη ζωή μου αντιγράφω                                                                                      I am copying my life

Πως μ' αρέσει αυτός ο ήλιος                                                                         I like this sun so much
πως μ' αρέσει αυτός ο ήλιος                                                                          I like this sun so much
πως μ' αρέσει το πρωί!                                                                          I like the morning so much!
κι είναι βάσανο ο φίλος                                                                 and it's a torture (when) a friend
είναι βάσανο ο φίλος                                                                   and it's a torture (when) a friend
που φωνάζει εκδρομή!                                                                                yells (let's go for a) trip !

Πως μ' αρέσει το φεγγάρι                                                                            I like the moon so much
πως μ' αρέσει το φεγγάρι                                                                             I like the moon so much
όταν βγαίνει να με δει!                                                                            whenever it rises to see me!
(να με δει μαζί σου)                                                                                         (to see me with you)
και κρατάει το φανάρι*                                                                                    and it holds a lantern
και κρατάει το φανάρι                                                                                    and it holds a lantern
στης αγάπης την πληγή                                                                                           in love's wound

Πήρα κόκκινη καρδιά                                                                                        I bought a red heart
και πουκάμισα φαρδιά φοράω                                                                and I'm wearing loose shirts
και ρωτάω να μου πουν                                                                       and I'm asking for the answer
όσοι ξέρουν ν' αγαπούν                                                             from anyone that knows how to love
σε ποιον έρωτα χρωστάω                                                                    to which love I owe something

Πήρα κόκκινα φτερά                                                                                            I bought red wings
και περνάω μια χαρά, γελάω                                                and I'm having a good time, I'm laughing
Πιάνω σώμα του χιονιού                                                                    I'm touching the body of snow
και ουρά χελιδονιού                                                                                    and the tail of a swallow
στου Θεού τ' αυτί μιλάω                                                                               I'm talking to God's ear
(Σ'αγαπάω)                                                                                                                 (I love you)

Πως μ' αρέσει αυτός ο ήλιος                                                                          I like the sun so much
πως μ' αρέσει αυτός ο ήλιος                                                                          I like the sun so much
όταν βγαίνει το πρωί!                                                                    whenever it rises in the morning!
κι είναι βάσανο ο φίλος                                                                 and it's a torture (when) a friend
κι είναι βάσανο ο φίλος                                                                  and it's a torture (when) a friend
που φωνάζει εκδρομή!                                                                                  yells (let's go on a) trip!

Πως μ' αρέσει το φεγγάρι                                                                             I like the moon so much
πως μ' αρέσει το φεγγάρι                                                                              I like the moon so much
όταν βγαίνει να μας δει                                                                            whenever it rises to see us
και κρατάει το φανάρι                                                                                   and it's holds a lantern
και κρατάει το φανάρι                                                                                 and it's holding a lantern
στης αγάπης την πληγή.                                                                                          in love's wound.

*κρατάω το φανάρι= Greek idiomatic expression. You use it when you are the only person hanging out with a couple, which may or may not be really intimate with each other but nevertheless makes you feel quite uncomfortable. Literally it means to hold a lantern, metaphorically being the unnecessary third person around a couple.
